Who do we pull from 9 weeks ?

Postby XGamer » 11 Oct 2011 19:25

So we have 4 major starters on the 9 weeks list:

Étienne Boulay -
ROSTER 09-Aug-11 - MTL TRF TO INJURED NIP Etienne BOULAY (DB) New Hampshire - to Friday October 21

Jerald Brown -
Added 04-Jul-11 - MTL TRF TO INJURED IMP Jerald BROWN (DB) Glenville State College - to Saturday September 17
re-added 17-Sep-11 - MTL EXT ON INJURED IMP Jerald BROWN (DB) Glenville State College - to Saturday November 19

Shea Emry -
Added 29-Sep-11 - MTL TRF TO INJURED NIP Shea EMRY (LB) UBC - to Monday November 28

Mark Estelle -
Added 30-Aug-11 - MTL TRF TO INJURED IMP Mark ESTELLE (CB) Utah State - to Friday November 04

CFL rules allow us to pull 1 player each 1/2 of the season from the 9 weeks injured list without any problems....

Remember,

East Semis are on November 13th, East Final is November 20th & Grey Cup is November 27th,

Emry's the obvious choice in the 4, take in consideration we don't know how the other recovery are going and we could still put them on 1 week IR after their official come back date, but this will impact the salary cap....

Did Football OPS waited too long before putting Emry on the 9 week list ?

He was 1st put on 1 week IR on September 4th, then added to 9 week IR almost 4 weeks later....(I like Emry, I was very happy when he signed his new contract with us ! It's not criticism vs him, more of the decision by football ops, he could have come back by Nov 8th, if he was put on 9 week list at the beginning....)

I'll let you debate....

I spoke with Shea after the game for a bit...he's raring to go, he just needs the medical clearance. Estelle or Brown would be ideal if available, but their injuries were pretty severe.

DB Dwight Anderson to nine-game injured list... DB Jerald Brown has been working his way back from a broken ankle in Week 1 and is eligible to return Week 16... LB Shea Emry remains out with a concussion but is making slow progress. S Etienne Boulay has made no progress recovering from a concussion. -TSN

Ca règle pas mal le débat.

Popp confirmed on TSN 990 (radio) that Anderson was sent home, looks like he will not be around the team for the rest of the season & his rehab. A friend from Calgary talked to him yesterday confirm the info.

I don't understand why TSN (web) are saying that Brown can be back for Week 16 (which was yesterday), when the CFL official tracker list his return date on Saturday November 19....weird....

*****************

I spoke with Jerald Brown yesterday at the art event hosted by Brandon London. He was walking around decently enough and says he feels good, but there's no timetable for his return. He's been rehabbing non-stop but won't go unless he's 100%, which is his style of play.

From this article:

http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/20 ... s_watkins/

Coach Marc Trestman said injured defensive back Jerald Brown will come off the nine-game injured list next week and he hopes to have him back before the end of the season, but another DB, Dwight Anderson, was still hampered by a quadriceps injury.

As for three players out with concussions, middle linebacker Shea Emry is "starting to come around" and safety Etienne Boulay may be well enough to start attending meetings next week, but safety Tad Crawford attended the game Sunday and "didn't feel well," said Trestman.

Now backup defensive lineman Chima Ihekwoaba has also seen a doctor about headaches.
