2 things that jumped in my mind when i saw his retirement...

1 - July 1st 2005 game vs 'Gades in Ottawa, when he jumped in to replaced Sylvain Girard who got injured...i was like Kerry Who ?
(even if he played a few downs with us in 2004)...he basically got his break right there....

2 - Again in 2005 - Grey Cup game, dropped ball....

Wish him a good retirement (success with his barber shop & sport bar in New Orleans), like he said, he realized after his surgery that he wanted to go out healthy...now he went out on his own term...Good For him !

Was the dropped ball the OT TD?

The TD would not have counted anyways but
I always suspected he dropped it on purposed.
I think he knew the flag was thrown and figured/hoped Edm would not accept the penality if the pass was incomplete

AC's deep threat for many years, but now Brian Bratton has replaced him. With the 2011 injuries/training camp delay due to surgery, figured his time in an Alouettes uni was up. I'm glad he got 2 rings and is leaving on his own terms, he was always a great guy to fans. I'm sure he'd make a great receivers coach if he gets bored with his business ventures.

2009 fisrt catch of the season, and last catch of 2009 in a key moment of the GC, he usually dropped one in a game, and then he was good. I always thought there he dropped it, he will be great the rest of the game, and it usually was true. He was a burner on the outside, i grew to love his play.

Je trouve également malheureux que Watkins se retire après une seule mauvaise saison. Je crois qu'il aurait pu revenir solide après ce passage à vide.

Souhaitons tout le succès qu'il mérite dans son après-carrière.

well finally got this one!! yes agree I 2 believed he could have continued or at least attempted to keep playing and at least showed up at '12 TC!!
