I think it was 238 to Hamilton last year Dont quite remember
I do remember for sure that it was 187 to Toronto in 2009
I do think it is a hefty increase. Some of it due to fuel charges, Hamilton tickets went up...

My gang and I are still going though

I am living in Toronto, do you think I could buy just game tickets from the Als so I'm ensured to sit with you crazy dudes? More fun sitting with the Als fans!

At what time does the train depart? 5:30am last year? Vrai ou Faux?
Kudos to all of you who prepared, woke up,got on a train & got your freak on at the game. Good job. :bravo:
On TV last year, you folks looked liked a bunch of fun lovin' crazed MTL ALs animals. "Hey Look its the Fan Train Crew!!"
My brother and I swore "We gotta hit up the fan train next year for sure."
Alors, quelle hour en partie?

Its worth a try but if you cant....We will be in section G you should be able to buy straight from the Ticats. There were Ti-cat fans in that section last year

fan train 2011

Postby 234ever » 18 Jun 2011 18:23

ok last year I called right after the june 19th pre-season game for a fan train ticket and the office said it was too early even though there were posters out already. I waited til just before the home opener july 22nd and it was already sold out.Just as well cuz I would have been too stressed with AC not playing so kudos to those who made it. I'm not sure if I saw a poster at the alouettes classic game april 29th but there were no posters june 16th. I just called and got my ticket so it's on. first labor day classic als-ticats. I've only been on the fan train to hamilton in 98 and 99. The 98 game will forever be in my mind. Cahoooon's first 2 TD catches from AC and the only tie for the alouettes since their return in 1996. weird.

En 2009 On a fait le voyage vers Toronto, C'était super (même si j'avais le pied cassé) L'an dernier, les places étaient restreintes et il n'a pas été possible d'y aller, cette année on a déjà acheté les billets, j'espère juste être mieux, je me suis cassé le même pied encore Mais on prévoit se déguiser, Go Als Go

I'm in that video!

Fan Train is awesome....the only thing that sucked about last year's was that they herded us all onto the buses from the stadium to the train station the minute the game was over, not allowing anyone a chance to get dinner. We were stuck waiting over an hour for the players to arrive to the train station as well. In that time, we could have gotten something to eat before the train left.

And yes, they did have food for sale on the train but I would have rather have had a real meal, not overpriced cold cut sandwiches and chips.

If I'm gonna shell out $300, I expect to be fed as well as schlepped to Hamilton & back. Otherwise, I'd rather do like Ottawa Als Fan and try to get tickets in the same section as the Fan Train people & go to Hamilton myself. But I still say every fan has to do the Fan Train at least once. The players are always in a good mood and ready to meet their fans.

Agreed...At least in Toronto, there are plenty of places to grab some chow during the walk back to the station.

Dont blame the Als for the increase in price
Hamilton increased their prices(thats what you get after a 9-9 season :byeurk: )
The rep selling the tickets told me that because the the price of fuel. both VIa and the bus company raised their prices.

Its great being with all the fans but the reason for the fan train, is the train and the players on the trip home

This will be my fifth fan train.
1998- 31-31 in Hamilton and Ben's first 2 TD catches from Calvillo. My first contact with 'yellow' hot dog buns.
1999- Russell Day sitting next to me. The guy who always had the beer cup on his head and danced. anyone know what became of him? is he still alive? he had this cool Concordes leather bag.
2008-2009 Toronto with my mom. not a football fan but she enjoyed the experience.

omg- not like in hamilton. they were Really yellow, like a canary. and they were pretty long dogs too. I'll never forget it. I wonder if they still have 'em.

He was a fun guy to be with and Man did he know his football. I remember seeing in some old 79 grey cup footage. Great guy.
