Stade Experience Oct 16
Salute folks. It's time again for the random offield musings of the Chuggabunch.

Overheard stadium Quote: “It's called a huddle, not a snuggle!”
Nothing like bringing a newbie to the stade.

If you have an extra ticket, bring a friend who never goes to games. Even better, bring someone who knows little to nothing about the game. However, if you bring an old friend from high school you haven't chilled with in years you may miss a chunk of the game. I missed the whole 3rd quarter. No regrets though. In fact she was hilarious. She was up till 5 am after consuming.....hmmn. Man she was in rough shape but a serious gamer. As it turns out she was given a free ticket at the gate from a stranger in a prime section too. It seems like people are trying to get rid of tix in every sport this year in MTL. Even Habs games too. I wonder why. Anyways ....

The Trailgate party kicked ass as usual. Whos lunch I ate off the grill, my apologies. It's just it look soo damn good. There was this hilarious moment when Le Legend was commandeering the band orchestration rehearsal. Nothing like all 80 of The Boston College Screaming Eagles marching band taking orders from some guy with a burly red beard. From a distance, that's what it looked like. I couldn't stop laughing at the idea. If they don't do what he wants, will he poop in a tuba?

The crowd at the Trailgate is an interesting mix of anglophones and Quebecois. I always try to meet new people especially the francophones. However my Franglais needs some work. It's cool though, cause they are so welcoming and give you a pat on the back for effort and respect. The Ti-Cat fans that showed up were on the level too. Die hard fans in fact. They drove down from Hamilton at 5 am and back to Steeltown the same night. Now that's dedication to your team.

Am I the only one who feels guilty about gorging on hotdogs and beer shortly after 12 along with watching the McGill athletics jog buy. Those gals take sprinting in spandex to the next level. It's like they multiply each Sunday. Great scenery for sure. Speakin of classy ladies. The Alouettes cheerleaders calendar has taken a different route than most. Beauty and class. Chillin' with a cup of coffee for instance rather than some pin up porn star experience. Check it out.

It only took me 4 mins to get barked at by security upon entering the stadium. This is a new record for the Chugg. I stoped by the Red Zone store to pick up a game day program and then.... “Hey don't brake that Proudfoot!” Ah crap already, I thought. I turn around and it's head of Upper South side security with a big grin laughing with a handshake. “Man your too easy to fool” haha. All good. Cheers to them for keeping us safe. However, the plastic holder of the game day programs is broken from Thanksgiving weekend game. For the record, I didn't do it! I collect those game day programs with my tickets for some reason.

Quick note. The plastic bags they give you with a purchase are probably the best in the city. In fact I was given a couple extra just for kicks. They are really nice folks working the stores and beer outlets. Oh yeah, cool to see Tiffany and her sister back from NYC slinging' suds again in my section.

The season tix holders next to me pass there tix to different people each week. Nice office/company to work for. Always cool folks too. I'm not sure about those so called fans who called in an “unofficial” complaint last year about me and my bro, but I'm glad they are gone. It's like a kick ass concert and everyone is standing yet those people behind you say something stupid like, “Your ruining it for everyone, sit down”. I am always courteous to those behind me. I know when to sit, stand and make an ass of myself in the name of getting the defence chant going at the right time. Anyways, good riddance where ever you ended up. Thinkin' about people getting in the way. How about those oversized umbrella fans. Thank you security for layin down the law. Bring a rain coat and sweater people. This is football, not the Jazz fest. I had a brief flashback when I saw those yellow Casino de Montreal rain coat ponchos break out in medium force. Good job folks, good job.

So when the rain came down ever so slightly I got a laugh when it was only the press boxes who closed up the garage door windows right away. I wonder if there was a debate about it between journalists. Too chilly for you! The excuse would be “well my laptop might get injured”. This I understand but, does anyone use a pen and paper anymore? What would happen if the power went out too. I'm sure they'd be scrambling for ideas.
During the race to space the Americans spent millions trying to figure out how to make a pen work in places unknown. Only to find the Russians show up with a pencil.

This is the CFL. Man up press box. Maybe some sleepy time tea to go with it. Lord knows none of them really want to be there. If they did we might here about the game in the papers or radio the day after. But wait, we need to know what kind of sunscreen Scott Gomez needs for his scalp in October and how it might help his game.
That's my rant and I'll move on.

Trivia time: When was the last time it rained at Stade Molson???????
The Pre-season game when the stadium was renovated. I'll never forget it cause there was 4-5 inches of water in the first row of the upper south side. I'm glad they took care of that drainage problem. It could have been a lot worse. Nasty worse. It's McGills responsibility, not the Als yet they took care of it.

Stats time: Our 2nd Quarter Subway toss contest was unsuccessful as usual. We are now 3 for 7 on the season. That also includes the guy wearing a Bombers jersey 3 weeks ago. Ouch!!! He nailed it from 10yrds out. For those who care, the first attempt is now 5yrds away as apposed to 3.5 yards out. Where do we find these people. I know where you can find one who's willing to jump through the damn thing. I wonder who.hahaha.

Attendance: blah blah blah. Who cares. If it means I get a little extra space on the bench, great. If it means a ticket for a friend is free, even better. It's called quality over quantity.

I blame Hamilton’s post game frustrations on the unusually large flock of Seagulls that joined the party at the tail end of the game. I never knew a pizza crust and hot dog nubs could be that popular amongst the sea folks.

It was a fun day as usual. Great to meet new friends, Francophones and Ti-Cat fans alike. I must say it's never the same when my brother isn't there.
Regardless, we got the win.

So bring a friend who knows everything yet nothing. Take nothing for granted and groove out to the marching band.
Mostly, get your freak on and GoAlsGo!!!
If it's too loud, your too old!

That's a pretty cool story (ok shouldn't it be called a book? :rotf: ) !

It was suuch a pleasure to read ! And i agree about going with people who don't know a lot about football or Alouettes ! (but just if the person is fun and ready to scream 'cause i kinda like to be intense haha!) I went with ma grand'pa on oct 16 (in facts, he invited me 'cause he won 2 tickets in section U2! Usually ! am in the endzone as i'm a poooor student with a smallll budget so it was UN-BELIEVABLE being in this section, right on the middle line of the field, it was sooo IMPRESSIVE from there! WOW !) and i thought that he didn't knew anything about football, but in fact he did knew a little more than i was expected ! he surprised me! He was asking me questions while enjoying a lot his rainy afternoon and he loved Percival ! Such a nice freeezzzyyyy day !

PS: Thanx again X :pfft2:
