I agree, backup D's just couldn't do it, that's where real experience comes into play, not from practices or from playing first year. We had to many key players injured in too many positions......no one player is to blame, just like no one player can win a game single handedly, it takes a total team effort. Still proud of my boys and I'll be back to McGill as usuall next year!!!

Like alsfanalways said, you cannot hope to be that comnpetitive on D, wehn your MLB is 3rd in depth and plays his first CFL career game, you cannot hope to compete when you lost your 2 halfback and play 2nd and 3rd in depth at that position, halfback being the most important and hardest position to play, they attacked Seth Williams all game and it worked. Too many injuries to hope to compete, even if we won yesterday i doubt we would have won the GC, not with that defense.
I would be surprised if hamilton goes to the cup with as poor a D as ours was.
And if i hear a complaint about AC, i will blow a gasket, 44 points is enough for us to win. Now lets hope next season we can rest AC more and that we get mpore talent in the secondary to backup our starters if they fall again, and Tibesar should take a hard look in the mirror, i am not convinced this D is up to snuff, by choice of personnel for the D they want to run.

To be honest like Big Pete said, this was one of the best game i ever saw at the big Owe, what a game!
hmmm nothing like the smell of victory, to the grey cup, Prepare to be boarded you bilge rat!!

Iagree with sectionu2.......everyone loves AC until a loss, then too many people want him to go....it takes a whole team to win, and a whole team to lose........and I don't think we're the people to properly decide when he has to go......leave AC alone!!!!

I have no problem with AC, the offence did what it had to do. It certainly performed better than the BC game. Comments made about the D are legitimate. CFL teams cannot keep top shelf talent on the 2nd and 3rd tiers. Those guys battled (Woldu, Dix, Hecht and Williams) and credit should be given to that effect. They gave it everything they had. But when you have holes to fill in the secondary and middle linebacking corps, you're going to be bailing alot of water from the boat. But as a footnote, the team could sure use a pair of hands like Cahoon. Take nothing away from the success of the deep ball, but for the first time in Calvillo's career, his comfort blanket was not there. The same comfort blanket that helped Calvillo rebound second half performances for Grey Cup wins. The same comfort blanket which would have surely secured that coveted OT first down .. and more. This loss marked an inconsistent year, struggles that go beyond injuries, but a year marking a team in transition of a new identity. I found the offensive playbook stale. Special teams hardly special, including the kicking game. Nothing to panic over, the 'bones' of the team are solid. But there is work to do for next year and I look forward to them returning with real Hunger for the Cup.

:whs:
The improvements are needed on D and ST, getting the injured back will help some, but better depth if possible would help. ST is a bascket case, a new coach is needed.
