Als Merchandise

Postby The BigTuna » 18 Jul 2011 15:00

Apparently L Equippeur is no longer the retailer for Alouettes merchandise, either at the stadium or in the retail outlets.

While at the game against the Argos, they had a great T Shirt which read on the front "Thank you Ben Cahoon" and on the back had all his stats.
Problem was, they had limited supply and ran out of size XL well before half time.

Hopefully M. Lalonde is looking into this situation seeing as he was the one responsible for the marketing/merchandising when employed by the Canadiens. To limit Alouettes merchandise to just the stadium for a 2 time Grey Cup championship team, makes no sense to me.

actually, i am finding the odd item at different retailers now, like Als caps at pharmaprix, could be a fluke. And we discussed the retail aspect of things in another thread, l'equipeur was never the exclusive retailer, they will still sell merchandise, but the stadium boutique is no longer run by l'equipeur, it makes sense if u ask me.

Oh and they havbe hired people for merchandising and are actually looking for one more according to their job posting, as time goes you will find more and more items, by the fact they are hiring merchandising employees, it tells me this is still being implemented.

I've been to Habs games since 2003 so I know first hand about the Lalonde touch. It was tough to deal with the changes at first but I do believe now things are going to look up. The stores were definitely better stocked overall this time and as time goes on I think we'll see more novelty items you usually find at the Habs store. DVDs would be nice for one thing. We had one in 2002 when we won under Ellis Prince (the t?) and I've kept it since. Still watch it sometimes to remind me of that Really special moment. The Habs liked to retire numbers on concording days like Bob Gainey on Feb. 23 Larry Robinson on Nov. 19.

I figure next year august 6 will be a thursday and being 6-8 we could retire brian chiu and cahoon on the same day with special framed tickets to commemorate.

Yep. Things are definitely moving forward. I don't think we'll see another crowd like june 30th again. I mean if he helped fill the Bell Centre with 21,273 people 41 times a year. 25,012 for 9 times can't be that difficult. still got 1,000 tix for sunday and then we got 3 weeks for what should be the prime matchup of the year als-esks august 11th. I just wonder if Ray could have waited one year before upping certain game day prices. wait til demand once again exceeds supply.

I applied for that position! Doubt I'll be called back, but stranger things have happened.

Actually, if hired this would be the first place I'd come to get feedback...whether or not that'd sink my chances, only time will tell.
